      李家田铝土矿床是湖南唯一探明的中型矿床。矿床产在超覆于寒武系碎屑岩、碳酸盐岩长期风化剥蚀的侵蚀面上,赋矿层位为二叠系下统梁山组(P2l)。研究表明,矿床主要分布于早古生代隆起区的边部,构造环境相对稳定,地史上长期沉积间断,滨海沼泽沉积相,下伏地层古喀斯特化对成矿有利。矿床的形成经历了红土化、沉积成岩和表生作用3个阶段。含三水铝石的红土风化壳是沉积型铝土矿的成矿母质,表生作用下使沉积型铝土矿再次富集。显然风化作用和风化壳是铝土矿床形成和分布的主要控制因素,属古风化壳沉积型。
英文摘要:
      Lijiatian bauxite deposit overlapped clastic rock,carbonate rock,that by underwent long term weathering denudation surface,metallogenic strata is Low Permian Liangshan Formation(P2l). The unique has been exploration middle scale deposit in Hunan. The deposit mainly distributed at the margin of uplift area of early palaeozoic,relatively stable tectonic environment,the geohistry of long term sedimentary noncontinuous period. The seamarsh sedimentary type was formed,underlying strata paleakarsitify favourable for mineralization was subject by the laterization,sedimentary diagenesis and supergenesis . The metallogenic resource material come from the gibbsite bearing lateritic weathering crust,and wuperginesis lead to enrich sedimental bauxite once again bauxite deposit formation and distribution mainly controlled by the weathering and weathered crusty,the genesis of deposit belongs to palaeo-weathering crust sedimentary type. 
