纳米比亚矿产资源丰富,其西北部库内内省沉积变质型铁矿体呈层状赋存于新元古界达马拉系奥塔威群阿比纳布亚群底部的朝斯组中;朝斯组在岩性上可分为三部分;铁矿体出露在朝斯组的底部和顶部,分别称之为下层矿体和上层矿体;下层矿体以赤铁矿石为主,含较高的锰;上层矿为赤—磁铁矿石。朝斯组特殊的岩性、铁矿风化后形成的明显地貌特征及铁矿石磁性和重力与围岩的差异,是该区此类型铁矿的找矿标志。该区域铁矿潜在资源量可达数十亿吨,有较好的开发前景。 |

Namibia is rich in mineral resources. The sedimentary metamorphic strata-bound iron deposit is situated in Kunene Province, northwestern part of Namibia, and it is hosted in Chous Formation at the bottom of Abenab Subgroup of Otavi Groups of the Upper Proterozoic Damara Sequence. Chous Formation can be divided into three members based on lithological characteristics. The iron orebody occurs at the bottom layer and the upper layer of Chous Formation, which are called the lower layer orebody and the upper orebody respectively. The lower iron orebody is mainly composed of magnetite and high content of manganese; the upper iron ore body is mainly composed of hematite and magnetite. The main prospecting criteria for this type of iron ore deposit are as followings:1) typical lithology of Chous Formation; 2) obvious geomorphologic characteristics after iron ore weathering; 3) and the differences of magnetism and gravity between iron ore and country rocks. It is predicated that there is potential several billion tons of iron ore in this region, thus, there is bright exploitation prospect for the iron ore. |
