The paper introduces the methods to calculate the trend and the plunge angle of the junction trace of two planar geological bodies, i.e., analytical method and the graphic method respectively. Also the angle between the plumb line and the project line of the junction trace in a vertical plane was calculated. Transform the analytical formula into the function expression in the Excle table for making calculation convenient. The graphic method is simple and intuitive, easy to be mastered and applied. The calculation is illustrated by its application in geological exploration with typical examples. |
