Base on follow-up check of the lower and gentle trend geochemical anomalies outlined by the 1∶200000 geochemical survey using an integrated exploration method in the Kalatage region, Xinjiang, several zinc-copper-(gold) deposits were discovered including the massive sulfide copper-zinc deposit with element association of Cu-Zn-Au-Ag-Cd-In-Ti-S; porphyry type copper deposit with element combination of Cu-Au-Zn-Mo-Ag ;hydrothermal vein type polymetallic copper deposit with element combination of Cu-Zn-Bi-As-Mo-Au-Ag-Sb-Pb-Ba, and hypabyssal low temperature and high sulfur copper-gold deposit with element combination of Au-Ba-Mo-Zn-Cu-Bi-As. This article mainly introduces the geological and geochemical characteristics and prospecting results of the hydrothermal vein type copper deposit and hypabyssal copper-gold deposit which are being mined currently as Meiling copper mine and Hongshi copper mine. |
