For a long time, the research on slag heap mainly focuses on the environmental impact of heavy metals in slag yard, and the enrichment, migration and pollution remediation of heavy metals in slag heap, while there are few studies on the evaluation of useful components in slag heap. In this paper, the NO.4、NO.5 and NO.6 slag heap of a gold ore which has a lot of slag heaps in the north of Gansu Province were selected as the investigation objects. Based on the sampling geostatistics method, the grade distribution characteristics and rules of the useful components gold were studied, and the average grade error range was discussed, and its quantitative classification was applied. The NO.4 and NO.5 slag heap resources are divided into 333 grade resources, with average Au grade of 1.37g/t and 1.28g/t, The NO.6 slag resources are divided into 332 resources and the average gold grade is 1.25g/t. The results show that the sampling statistics method can provide a scientific basis for the resource evaluation of a large number of slag piles left over, and also provide a comprehensive scientific support for the evaluation of green mines.
