The Huangshui’an region is situated in the southern margin of the North China Craton. In this area,carbonate veins are developed along the axis of the northwest-trending Mutougou-Huangshui’an anticline. This pa.per presents a comprehensive study of the Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic composition of calcite in the carbonate rocks of theHuangshui’an area, building upon detailed mineralogical and petrological investigations. The results indicate that the 87Sr/86Sr ratios of calcite range from 0.705749 to 0.706085, with an average of 0.705894. The 143Nd/144Nd ratios range from 0.511619 to 0.512076, with an average of 0.511801. The 208Pb/204Pb ratios vary from 36.351 to 37.534, averaging at 37.443. Similarly, the 207Pb/204Pb ratios range from 15.413 to 15.471, averaging at 15.443. The 206Pb/204Pb ratios span from 17.228 to 17.319, with an average of 17.258. The μ values (238U/204Pb) range from 9.25 to9.37, averaging at 9.31. The Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic composition of calcite suggests that the Huangshui’an carbonates likely originated from an enriched mantle source known as EMI, with potential minor contamination from crustal ma.terials during the magma intrusion process. Considering the rare earth and uranium geochemical anomalies in the re.gion, along with the presence of Indosinian deposits in the Qinling Orogen, it is evident that the Huangshui’an area holds significant potential for the exploration of minerals associated with carbonate formations. |
