The Lower Permian Dazhuyuan Formation widely distributed in the northern part of Guizhou is a setof high aluminum rocks with high lithium concentration. By studying the lithological assemblage, mineral composi.tion, and chemical components of the aluminum-bearing rock series, it was found that lithium is relatively enrichedin the upper part of the aluminum-bearing rock series. The lithium is mainly enriched in the compact bauxite orlow-grade bauxite. The lithium content is negatively correlated with boehmite, and positively correlated with chlo. rite, indicating that the lithium enrichment may be related to the adsorption of chlorite clay minerals. Lithium is con.centrated in bauxite (ore) with 30% to 50% Al2O3 and less than 10% Fe2O3. The aluminum-bearing rock series fromsouth to north can be divided into the weathering-denudation zone, the weathering-transport near-sedimentationzone, and the weathering-transport far-sedimentation zone. Strong and thorough weathering oxidation effects, aswell as weak weathering oxidation effects, are both unfavorable for lithium enrichment. Lithium enrichment oc.curred after source rocks of the aluminum-bearing rock series underwent strong weathering, and the weathering-transport near-sedimentation zones are prospect areas for lithium exploration. |
