| To summarize the spatiotemporal distribution and genetic mechanisms of tungsten, tin, molybde-num, lead, zinc, and copper mineralization in the southern Hunan mining district, and to provide practical refer-ences for applying metallogenic theories in exploration, this study conducts geological, geochronological, and rockgeochemical investigations on the Huangshaping polymetallic deposit in southern Hunan. By comparing it withother typical polymetallic districts in the region, we find that the time gap between magmatic-hydrothermal activi-ties responsible for lead-zinc-copper and tungsten-tin-molybdenum mineralization is at least 5 Ma. The spatial zo-nation of different mineralization associations is controlled by multiple factors including multi-stage upwelling ofdeep magma sources, degree of differentiation of ore-related magmas, geochemical behavior of ore-forming ele-ments, and relatively closed structural environments such as near-elliptical dome structures. Quantitative param-eters such as Zr/Hf, Nb/Ta, Rb/Sr ratios, differentiation index (DI), and solidification index (SI) from intrusive bod-ies associated with these two types of ore deposits effectively indicate the degree of magmatic differentiation and thepotential for forming various orebody combinations. Based on this, we conclude that the absence of tungsten-tin-molybdenum and lithium-rubidium-niobium-tantalum mineralization in some highly differentiated intrusions insouthern Hunan is related to uplift and subsequent erosion of the upper parts of the intrusions after the main miner-alizing period. |
